MARIO GREGIO

Born in the hills of Tuscany and raised on nonna’s proverbs and Sunday ragù, he grew up immersed in the cadences of a language where even a casual gesture tells a story. This deep-rooted connection to Italian—its elegance, its rhythm, its expressive force—naturally led him to study Italian Philology, where he explored everything from Dante’s legacy to the evolution of dialects across the peninsula.

After university, he didn’t let his degree gather dust. He brought Italian to life in classrooms, community centers, and language cafés, helping learners of all ages discover not just how to conjugate a verb, but how to live the language. With a blend of scholarly precision, regional flair, and a touch of irony, he teaches Italian as a bridge between past and present, grammar and culture, self and society.

Editor-in-Chief

MATTEO DE SANTIS

Matteo De Santis was born in Naples, in a neighborhood where every conversation is a performance and every phrase comes with a gesture. Raised in a household where storytelling was a nightly ritual and dialects mixed freely with standard Italian, Matteo developed a deep appreciation for the richness, rhythm, and emotional power of language from an early age. His passion led him to study Italian Literature and Linguistics in Rome, where he immersed himself in everything from Dante’s terzine to modern sociolinguistics and dialectology.

Beyond teaching, Matteo has worked as a writer, editor, and cultural consultant, contributing to Italian learning materials, developing curriculum, and offering workshops on Italian gestures, proverbs, and regional expressions. He specializes in connecting language to real cultural experience, from idioms heard in Naples markets to expressions used in contemporary Italian film and pop music.

CATERINA LOMBARDI

She grew up in Florence, where every piazza feels like a stage and the language itself dances with rhythm, color, and emotion. In a city shaped by artists, philosophers, and the legacy of Dante, she discovered her passion early: Italian—not just as a means of communication, but as poetry in motion, a cultural key, and a way to feel at home no matter where life leads.

With a degree in Education and over a decade of teaching experience, she has guided learners of all ages—from teens to retirees—through the beauty and complexity of the Italian language. She’s taught in classrooms across Italy and internationally, always infusing her lessons with a touch of Florentine elegance and humor. Her mission today is to make high-quality Italian language resources accessible to everyone.

DIANA PASCALE

Born and raised in Bologna, she grew up surrounded by porticoes, pasta, and the lyrical flow of the Italian language. Living in a city where tradition and innovation walk side by side, she developed a deep appreciation for the stories, sounds, and soul of Italy—and found her purpose through its language.

She joined us with one clear goal: to make Italian more accessible and authentic. In a digital world overflowing with generic phrases and clunky translations, she’s committed to offering something real. And if her students walk away knowing how to use the congiuntivo with confidence and how to charm a nonna during Sunday lunch? Mission accomplished!
